What style of yoga do I teach?
My yoga is based on Hatha which is mix of Asanas (postures) where you learn to move with the breath. My classes vary week to week with alignment based techniques, focusing on how you feel within your own body to enable movement. I also include some mindfulness meditation when I can and relaxation at end of each class.
Do I need to have practised yoga before to attend a class?
No all my students have come from either complete beginners or more intermediate yoga. I offer modifications for all abilities and use lots of props, to enable you to feel comfortable. This enables students to feel more comfortable in their own ability as yoga is non-competitive and everyone works to their own limitations.
What do you need to bring for a class?
If you have a yoga mat take it along and warm layers including a light blanket for relaxation. I carry lots of blocks and belts for modifications. A sense of fun as I want you to feel able to enjoy the experience and not feel judged.
Now classes are currently online please ensure when coming to a class that I can see you when standing or lying down. Also make sure you have space around you to move safely. If you are new to a class please get in touch before attending so I can answer any questions and make sure you are able to practice safely.
