Lots of new people attended yoga4health free taster classes including gentle years seated classes. Thanks to all who came along and some of whom continue to attend my regular classes. March - May 2020 Due to lockdown and not being able to teach my classes face to face I attended lots of online courses with The Minded Institute in London:
March 2020 Completed 10 week block of Yoga4Health classes with NHS colleagues in Aberdeenshire. The class started off face to face but due to Covid lockdown we ended the course online. A huge thank you to all the lovely 80+ participants who came along to our day of yoga on Sunday 19th May 2019. As part of a national mental health week a group of six yoga teachers and I provided free yoga classes in Inverurie Townhall between 10 and 4pm. So great to meet so many people who came from across Aberdeenshire. Rona Main British wheel of yoga teacher Lis Barron pranamama yoga Gordon Edward, Lucy West, Donna Nash, Mhairi Allan and I who are all Yoga Scotland teachers Pushp Vaid shared meditation from Isha Foundation September 2017 - Beautiful Knaresborough (photo below) in Yorkshire after attending yoga therapy centre for a week. I was lucky enough to get opportunity to train on new Gentle years yoga for supporting people with long term health conditions with British Wheel of Yoga. This class is for people who have mobility limiting health condition. If you or you know someone who is looking for a more gentle form of yoga please get in touch. |

Yoga Nidra with the Yoga Nidra Network and am currently offering Yoga Nidra sessions as part of my general yoga classes. Yoga Nidra (meaning sleep) is a way to engage our conscious mind in letting go through relaxation, releasing stress, tension, pain and may help in reducing insomnia. November 2020 I completed Sound sessions with Anne Malone through Yoga Campus in London and have learnt how to incorporate sound into yoga and how to deliver sound bath sessions for either one to one or in group sessions. The benefits of sound is very healing, so perfect for those who don't want movement but to be able to release tension through listening and feeling the natural vibrations of sound. I completed Menopause Yoga training with Yoga Campus and can now offer women circles to support women through and post menopause. October - December 2020 Assessment of Nutritional Health with Aberdeen University (150hrs) (masters level module :Energy expenditure, Dietary assessments, Body composition, Understanding food and nutrition guidelines & Food Composition October 2020 Somatic training with Tias Little Prajna Yoga, from Sante Fe New Mexico and have completed Satya 1 training and also Therapeutic Yoga training with Prajna Yoga earlier in the year. |
